“I am inspired by life — life is art, art is life — that
plus the sublime beauty that is Nature along with the American Luminists such
as Frederic Church, Fitz Hugh Lane and others.
I feel blessed that I’ve become a successful landscape painter. It’s
been a passion of mine ever since I can remember. As artists, we live each
day passionately. Our only hope is that we remain healthy so we can continue
our craft.
I will probably die while driving my car, looking out the window at the landscape.
The feeling of applying the right note on your canvas is why we keep doing
what we do. It’s the same way Giacomo Puccini felt when
he found the right note while composing “O Mio Babbino
Caro”. We
can never get bored at what we do. Every painting is a challenge, and we can’t
ever get it perfect the way nature does it. That’s what keeps us coming
back.
As long as I am healthy, I will always keep trying to reach for that color
note, and perhaps someday I will complete that visual symphony.”
