Sergio in Studio “It’s the dead of winter and life, for the most part, is in a state of suspension; trees reach their leafless arms to the leaden sky in supplication that spring arrives swiftly; the birds so colorful and cheerful are quiet and have assumed their drab winter plumage — the smart ones went south for a few months. Thankfully my feeder continues to attract those that remain.

Blue violet grey seems to be the predominant color this time of year. Leaden skies, leaden seas — throw in a sudden snow squall and the horizon line vanishes as if painted out with a brush dipped in gray paint.

I’m looking forward to my workshop in Key Largo in February and then spring in New England, when life and color return and I can venture forth more frequently with my easel and capture the world on canvas.”

Best Regards,
